Dremel multi tool
Before I review the actual product, a quick review of CPO Dremel. The refurbish(factory recondtioined) tool was in perfect condition – if there wasn’t sticker on the dremel multi-max that said it was a refurbished one, I’d think it was brand new. The dremel multi max blade, flexible scraper and sanding attachments were also brand new and they weresealed in plastic properly. The main differences are that dremel multi tool comes inplain brown box, and instead of 2 years warranty with new unit, you will get 1 year warranty. Good way to save a few money. When I ordered it the price of dremel multi tool was lower than the brand new one. Prices change a lot, however, make sure to compare price with new one before buying.
Dremel Multi-Max is a very useful tool provided if you understand its capacity. It’s suitable for homeowner use, and is incredibly handy for jobs ,eg – making a plunge cut into drywall or wood, , removing grout, undercutting trim when installing flooring and peeling off caulk. Those tasks I’ve used dremel multi tool for and each time I’ve been very happy with the ease of use and the final results. The multi max tool Makes me look like I’m a much better carpenter than I actually am. I’ve had no problems with the blade coming off like some have reviewd. There’s a support phone listed in a contact us on the Dremel site if you need to have a better washer assembly dremel send it to you with FOC. Anyway I’ve not had the need for it – just confirm the washer is situated properly (there are notices and stickers all over the dremel multi -tool and instruction manual telling you how to use it properly) , tighten the holding bolt down perfectly. There are no problems for me after days of use.
This is not a tool that can serve the hard and heavy use that a carpenter or professional contractor dishes ouot. That’s a reason that the Fein multi tool costs so much more . Fein multimaster built to withstand much heavier duty than the Dremel multi max. I guess this would last more than 2-3 months in the hands of a contractor who uses it daily. For the typical homeowner like me, it’s a smart way to get 85% of the benefits of a Fein at this price. More than enough for normal use around the house.
I went with this instead of Rockwell because of Dremel multi tool blades are a lot easier to find. You can get them anywhere if you need one immediately, you can find them at local stores.
Tips: don’t force the tool – let it cut automatically. You’ll get a better cut and you’ll save cost of the dremel multimaster blade
